UltraFind is a professional find file utility specially developed for System 7
that can quickly find anything - anywhere on your computer or network,
and move it (or copy, label, open/launch, examine, backup or remove it).

Searching on just about any conceivable combination of Macintosh file
attribute, UltraFind is designed to go and get the exact document you need
from among countless documents with similar file names or types,
or collect files from all over your system and move them to new locations.

UltraFind will scan any mounted media (hard disks, network volumes,
Syquests, CD-ROMS, Opticals, tape streamers, floppies etc.) looking for:

<•>   Specific words, or parts of sentences WITHIN files
<•>   Groups of files such as Fonts, Movies, TIFF, EPS etc.
<•>   Files by Name, Date, Label, Size, Creator, Type, etc.
<•>   Files that need backing up (and it backs them up)
<•>   Unused files, invisible files, Aliases, obscure files etc.

Among other things, it can:

 •   Find all documents on your disks or network that contain specific words
      (or parts of sentences) like “...product launch...”, “...October 1995...”
      and “...total cost...” etc. and enables you to check the differences.

•    Find specific types of files including Xtensions, Plug-ins, fonts, sounds,
      images (Tiff, Pict, Eps) etc. or files belonging to a given application.

•    Move groups of files all in one go from all over your system to a new
      location, or set their label colour, copyright them, trash them, display
      fast info on them, examine their data, or just double-click and open them.
      Organise files scattered all over your machine or network, moving them to
      their new or correct locations.

•    Get an instant list of everything worked on yesterday or today, or find all
      files created or modified on, before, during or after a given date.

•    Save frequently used search setups as “Preset” menu items, allowing you
      to create your own custom search menus.

•    Backup your disks, using the "Not Backed Up" button to find everything that
      has been updated since the last backup. Create your own custom backup
      settings specific to your Mac or business and save them as a Preset Menu.

•    Scan for all those old unused documents that have been hanging around for
      ages. Search for files larger than a given size, examine them and decide
      if you want to back them up and/or trash them (free up loads of space on
      your disks you never knew you had!)

•    Copyright your artwork files with the built-in CopyRight-IT™ function.

•    Search for given ASCII or HEX strings (or references to external files)
      within documents, applications, INITs, CDEVs or system resources.
      And use UltraFind's Examine Raw Data function to look inside any file,
      regardless of whether you have the creator application or not.

                                                     


INSTALLATION

UltraFind is the kind of application you may need to access frequently and in a
hurry, therefore we suggest that you place it into your Apple Menu Items
folder (inside your System Folder).

If you would prefer to put it somewhere else - such as your Utilities or
Applications folder - then put an ALIAS of UltraFind into your Apple Menu.
For ease of use, you could also drag UltraFind out onto your Desktop, and leave
it in the bottom-left corner of your screen.
                                                     


WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW

The HELP screen gives a quick introduction to UltraFind's functions, commands
and interface. Please Read the first few lines of the HELP screen.
If you don't, you may think this is just another Find File... and you would miss
the power, the reason (and the point).

Select "UltraFind Help" from the Apple Menu , or press the HELP key on your
extended keyboard, or press <Shift-Command-?>

If you wish, you can print the help screen out.
                                                     


DISTRIBUTING ULTRAFIND

You are welcome to distribute UNREGISTERED copies of UltraFind to other
users, User Groups and Bulletin Board systems.

The only distribution restrictions are: You may not sell, lease, rent or loan
this Software, distribute registered versions of this Software, or distribute
this Software in any commercial format without the prior written consent of
UltraDesign Technology Ltd.
                                                     


SOFTWARE LICENCE AGREEMENT

By using this Software you are agreeing to be bound by the terms of this license.
If you do not agree to the terms of this license you must remove this Software
from your system and not use it.

TERMINATION

You may try this Software for a maximum period of 30 days, after which time
if you do not wish to pay the Licence fee, you are required to destroy this
program and all copies thereof.

regarding the use or the results of the use of this Software or its accompanying

which will unlock this copy of UltraFind, removing the unregistered software
alerts, and personalising it to you. Your registration number will also work
on future upgrades,  ensuring a FREE upgrade path. Registered Users also
have access to free Technical Support.
